SPARCCLE researchers participated in the European Geosciences Union (EGU) 2025 conference, with presentations covering both SPARCCLE research and related topics.
SPARCCLE researcher presented on the equitable distribution of climate mitigation and damage costs across regions.
A post-workshop webinar was held on 13th March 2025, after the in-person workshop in Brussels (3rd-4th December 2024), to gain updates on modelling progress regarding the developed stress tests, specifically outlining what aspects of interest could be modelled and how.
Co-organised by SPARCCLE researcher Marina Andrijevic, the workshop brought together around 40 interdisciplinary experts to collaboratively develop tools and bridge knowledge gaps. Five researchers from the SPARCCLE project participated.
SPARCCLE Project Coordinator, Edward Byers (IIASA), met with the OECD team to discuss climate impacts in adaptation IAMs.
The aim of the workshop was to foster synergies between the University of Florence (UNIFI) and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) on common research interests, including forest disturbances, critical transitions and tipping points in socio-ecological systems, climate risk and vulnerability assessment, water-carbon coupling.
Three SPARCCLE researchers met with Dr Andrej Ceglar from the ECB to discuss collaboration on climate change impacts on biodiversity, ecosystem services and natural capital and share information on state of the art assessments for Europe.

This collaborative event provided a platform for feedback on EU adaptation and mitigation policy analysis. It also marked the beginning of SPARCCLE’s stress test co-development process.
A preparatory webinar was held on 27th November 2024, before the in-person workshop in Brussels (3rd-4th December 2024), to set expectations, outline materials that would be available during the workshop, offer an opportunity for feedback, and outline main narratives of interest for the three stress tests.
